Romeo Vermant was substituted in the closing stages of the game against KV Mechelen. Club was already down to one man and still had to work hard to at least get a draw.
"We can't blame ourselves. We dominated the first half and Mechelen had no chances. Only our efficiency could have been better, then we would have had a lead at halftime. If you look at the first half in terms of chances and goal shots, we should have scored at least one goal. We had the match in our own hands, except for a counter in the second half. But then you have that red card, of course, and then it's hard to create anything yourself. Then you especially want to keep that draw for that point and try to hold on to that. It was mainly work with the man down. There was still fifteen minutes to go and that is full steam ahead, trying to keep everything closed. And try to exploit the counters you still get. We weren't able to score anymore, but we did hold the 1-1. That's positive." (KN)
