Blauw-Zwart moves on after a big 0-6 win against Beerschot. Coach Deila was logically pleased after his group's performance.
Beerschot's coach indicated that the game was actually over after 15 minutes. "That might be a little too early," coach Deila began his analysis. "I think we put in a good performance here and we were well prepared. We hurt them a lot on the flanks and we also defended well. I don't think they had a really big goal opportunity outside of some shots. We played well compact throughout the match and on top of that we were very efficient with the chances we created early in the match. We could perhaps have scored more in the second half, but overall I am very impressed with my group. Of course, it is also a quality to punish their mistakes and we did that well today. We were very efficient and were also able to score the first goal and that early goal did make it easier so our confidence in the match quickly grew. I didn't ask the team at halftime to slow down to possibly save some energy. I deliberately made some substitutions because we can use all the players. So some players who didn't play that much yet were able to get some minutes and that's also nice. So it's a great day for us! In addition, it is very important for confidence to score a lot of goals. We have done that more often this season, but mainly in periods. We still have to get regularity in that and hopefully those goals will follow on Sunday against Union," concludes a satisfied Ronny Deila (TM).
