A satisfied Club coach after the 5-1 win against Akureyri. Ronny Deila saw an energetic side, managing to keep up the pressure throughout the game.
“I'm very happy with today's performance. This wasn't an easy game, it came with high expectations to knock them out in this first leg. But we did some good work today, we kept our patience and managed to retain the pressure. We really should have scored more goals, but I saw a lot of energy in the team. Casper and Roman came on, and Philip also made his debut. Things were positive today. We will be using this game to keep improving. We will line up a fine team in Iceland and go for the win. We will also take on this game to allow some players more playing minutes.”
Club's fifth goal came courtesy of Roman Yaremchuk. “I'm realy happy for Roman. He moves a lot better than the day I arrived here as a coach. You can see that he's sharper and plays with more confidence. His goal today was great for him and for us. A Roman in fine form will always be an asset to our team. The fans also saw the energy to keep up the pressure and attack. The atmosphere inside the stadium was great, it's good to see the fans and the players creating a bond.” (KN)
