Salzburg wins friendly with 8-2

FC Salzburg won their first friendly after the winter break against amateur team USK Anif by a big 8-2 score. The Austrian champion will play four more friendly matches before facing Club Brugge in the Europa League on February 14.

For the Austrians, the winter break had already started in mid-December. Marco Rose's team only resumed training late last week and will play five practice matches in the coming weeks. The first practice match was against amateur team USK Anif. Salzburg played in a 3-5-2 system and easily found their way to the nets. Via Daka, Prevljak and Lainer it reached a 3-0 lead after half an hour. The visitors managed to score two more goals against before half-time, but in between Daka had already made it 4-1. After the break, it eventually became 8-2, thanks to goals by Dabbur, newcomer Haaland and twice Gulbrandsen. In the coming weeks, FC Salzburg will practise against Blau-Weiß Linz, Slavia Prague, Beijing Guoan and Rheindorf Altach. (SF)
