Simon Mignolet didn't have much work to do today, but was still knocked out of the Icelanders at 4-1. Blue-Black eventually won by a generous 5-1 score.
"We have a good starting position for the second match, that was the intention. We handled this match very professionally. In the second half we could have made the difference a little bigger. But 5-1 is a good result and it's something for the fans to get excited about at the beginning of the season. The spell with them only broke after the second and third goals. We put ourselves in a good position for the second game."
Club forgot to push the score further in the second half. "Some guys got a chance to show themselves at the substitutions, they hadn't made minutes for a long time. That takes some getting used to, adjusting and getting used to the stadium and the players. It's logical that you have some problems in that second half, but after that we picked it back up. In that difficult period we swallowed a goal against. The positive thing is that we then turned the knob around and scored another goal. After that there were even chances for an extra goal." (KN)
