Simon Mignolet: "Dost provides a surplus"

Club won the difficult away match at Beerschot 0-3, but the final score could have looked somewhat different had it not been for goalkeeper Mignolet once again turning out with some sterling saves.

"It's obviously my job to prevent goals," said the always down-to-earth Club goalkeeper. "Since we knew before the start of this away game that the competition had once again dropped points, the importance became even greater. Mind you, everyone knows by now that Beerschot is by no means a fluke in first division and that it scores easily, so we were warned. Fortunately, we have a very solid defense and that makes all the difference. Yes, Beerschot had chances, but they couldn't score and I'm very happy about that tonight."

At times, you saw another fluent playing Club Brugge with notable again a goal from Bas Dost. "Yes, it is clear that with Bas we have a surplus there. It's someone who can score, but also can easily keep track of the ball so there is more space for the players around him. That can only benefit us. From now on it will be very busy weeks again with midweek soccer and therefore our coach will rotate again. Since at the moment everyone is almost fit, we currently have a luxury problem, but things can turn around very quickly. With this 0-3, it will all be a fun return trip."
