Simon Mignolet saw that the substitutes gave the extra punch that made the difference to force qualification. The Bruges goalie was proud that Club was the better side over the two games against Osasuna.
"No Sweat, No Glory I would say. We knew beforehand that it would be a difficult match. Osasuna is a very strong team. The difference is that we have more attacking qualities that can make the difference. That also showed at the end when we had to turn the game around. We can bring in guys who bring extra punch, who make the difference at the right moments. I'm very happy with that. When you come out against an opponent like that, it's always difficult. I'm glad we're in the group stage, because this was not an easy task."
Osasuna was a tough opponent at this stage of the UEFA Conference League. "If you win at Vigo and Valencia, that means you can stand your ground. For us, this is not an easy opponent. We can be proud that over two games we are the better or on the winning side. That's kudos to all of Club Brugge. Before the match I said it in the locker room: it's only about qualification. We had to stay calm in any scenario. Maybe the boys picked up on that well."
Tomorrow follows the draw for the group stage. "Now we have passed a difficult stage. Osasuna could get far European, we can too. We have to stay calm and we are especially happy to have qualified. We can now write another European story. Since I have been here, I have only played European soccer and I am happy to do it again this year." (KN)
