The practice fields in the shadow of the Jan Breydel Stadium were once again entirely devoted to G-football on Saturday, May 16. For the 17th time, Club Brugge Foundation organized its annual G-football tournament. With 33 participating teams from Belgium, the Netherlands and, for the first time, England, this was the most international edition to date.
From nine o'clock players, coaches and supporters poured in. After a warm opening ceremony, the first matches were kicked off at 10 a.m. on three fields. Together with Club Brugge Foundation's own teams, the G-team, the autosoccer team Club Brugge Voetbalkraks and the Club Brugge Amp Team, 33 teams made it an unforgettable tournament day.
Everyone a winner
At the Club Brugge G-football tournament, there are no standings. Each team plays its matches and gives its best, and it is this approach that has made the tournament unique for 17 years. Coaches were also asked to work with balanced lineups so that each match is sporting and fair.
Besides the games, the tournament is also about meeting and friendship. Thanks to the efforts of our many volunteers, players and supporters were able to enjoy drinks, snacks and music along the fields.
Two guest visits
Our chairman Bart Verhaeghe paid a surprise visit and showed with words how pleased he is that this tournament is organized every year. Mayor Dirk De fauw was also present during the awards ceremony. All participating teams were honored and received a medal, a unique cap, soccer socks and a bag of candy as a souvenir of this day.
With the support of Sport Vlaanderen
The organization of the Club Brugge G-football tournament is in the hands of Club Brugge Foundation and its G-football team and is again financially supported by Sport Vlaanderen. Also in 2026, the tournament was again recognized as an 'Accessible G sport event'. We would also like to thank our volunteers for making this tournament possible. Club Brugge Foundation warmly congratulates all participants. We are proud of the way they can experience soccer each time. We are looking forward to next year!
