Thomas Meunier: “100% ready for the Euro and the Champions League”

Under massive media attention - and the fans - the Red Devils begin their adventure at the European Championships with their opening game against Italy. Thomas Meunier, last week again fully fit, sits at the group and looks with us forward to the tournament.

<strong>Thomas, how was the arrival in Bordeaux?</strong></p>
<p>
&quot;Everything was very well organized. Transport, arrival, accommodations. Everything is in the sign of a good preparation for the players. Everyone could carefree start training. The last few days we have trained here on the practice fields on pressing and winning the ball back. Especially with this heat it delivers spirited sessions but everyone is really looking forward to it. &quot;</p>

<strong>Can you go all the way after your muscle tear?</strong></div>

&quot;The injury is in the past. I am fully fit and have already had some training with the group. I&#39;m ready for this tournament. &quot;</div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
<strong>The injury did come at an awkward moment, in a match without betting. Would you rather not have played against Oostende?</strong></div>

&quot;No, I played the last match without problems. An injury you can always add up and I had suffered no injury, there was no mention of my playtime. The important thing now is that we have a core of 23 players who are fit and hungry. &quot;</div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
<strong>That hunger is felt in training, where the intensity is very high ...</strong></div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
&quot;I call it a natural aggressiveness. Not to injure each other, but to keep everyone on their toes, so that we can show something in this European Championship. &quot;</div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
<strong>What is your ambition for the European Championship?</strong></div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
&quot;We want, just like the fans, to get as far as possible. I think we should aspire to at least the quarterfinals. It will of course depend on ourselves. Personally, I just give myself fully in training and on the pitch. I&#39;ll see whether there is in playing, but I do hope so, yes. To play in a European Championship would be a great reward for the work I&#39;ve done over the years, and would frankly be a childhood dream come true! &quot;</div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
<strong>After the European Championships you will plug back into the Club preparing for a new season. Look at you out there?</strong></div>
<div>
&nbsp;</div>
<div>
&quot;Obviously. After the title I stay at Bruges next year. I look forward to the Champions League with Club. Of course you can never rule out anything in football, but in my mind I play at Club next season. &quot;</div>
