Vanaken closes the international week with two goals and an assist

Club Brugge will be welcoming back its internationals after a hefty international week away from the club. On Saturday, the league awaits once more with an away game at KV Kortrijk.

With both Simon Mignolet and Hans Vanaken in the Starting XI, Belgium's Red Devils took on Belarus. Big Si earned a 30th cap, in a game graced with two Vanaken goals, and an assist to boot. Vanaken scored his first upon a fine Thomas Meunier cross, only to add a second with minutes to go. With Wales beating the Czech Republic, Belgium is now first in its group with 7 out of 9.

Less fortune for Noa Lang, who was forced to leave the Dutch U21s in the ECs. In the second group game of Jong Oranje, Lang collided with team mate Toon Koopmeiners, and was unable to go on due to pain in the knee. Lang retunred to the Basecamp for further recovery. A 6-1 win at the hands of Hungary takes Jong Oranje to the Quarter Finals; the second stages of the tournament is set at the end of May. Holland will then take on Denmark, France or Russia.

Ethan Horvath joined the United States in the country's friendly meetings with Jamaica and Northern-Ireland. Horvath had to settle for the bench on both occasions. He will be rejoining the group on Tuesday.

The only Club player still to play is Eduard Sobol, joining his Ukraine against Kazachstan. Earlier on, Ukraine drew against France and Finland. He will be heading back for Bruges on Thursday.

Nick Shinton and Ignace Van der Brempt return after a training week with the Belgian U21s, playing two friendlies: a 3-0 win against Standard and a 1-3 defeat against Westerlo. Van der Brempt scored in the win over Standard, while Shinton kept a clean sheet.
