A win for Real, Galatasary had to settle for a draw

Real Madrid bagged a narrow 1-2 win away against Alavés, while Galatasary only took one point home following a 1-1 draw with Trabzonspor. Paris Saint-Germain's game against AS Monaco was canceled due to heavy rain and floods in Monaco.

Real Madrid took all three points home following a 1-2 win against Deportivo Alavés. Zinédine Zidane didn't put any Belgian between the lines. Eden Hazard was sidelined with an injury, Thibaut Courtois was on the bench. Former Club Brugge player Tomas Pina played in midfield for the hosts.

It took quite a while before the game really started. Shortly after the break Sergio Ramos headed in Kroos' free-kick against the back of the net. But Madrid couldn't enjoy that lead for a long time. When Ramos slapped Joselu in the face, the home side leveled when Lucas Perez fired in the spot kick. But Real took the lead again a few minutes later when Carvajal scored from close range: 1-2. A point each for Galatasaray and Trabzonspor. The hosts lined up two familiar faces: John Obi Mikel (ex Chelsea) and Alexander Sørloth (ex Gent). The latter broke the deadlock shortly after the break.

But Fatih Terim's side equalised in the dying minutes through left full-back Nagatomo. Due to this draw Galatasary are now only eighth in the Süper Lig and are already seven points behind Sivasspor. (SF)
