Since January 14th, it has been possible for subscribers to renew their subscription for next season already. Member Roger De Loof celebrates his 83rd birthday this year, but has already renewed his subscription. This makes him the oldest fan to have secured his seat for next season already. A few questions for this loyal fan!
They #BluvnGoan: the oldest Club-fan
1. How long have you been a season ticket holder and supporter of Club Brugge?
I have been a season ticket holder since my 10th birthday. I was already going to the matches when we played at De Klokke and had to sit on wooden benches. In '70, I married my wife, and she immediately got a subscription as well. In the past, we would always stand during a match, but now we prefer to sit down to watch the football.
2. Which section do you sit in?
We sit in the East upper, section 324. We sit there together with a friend of my wife.
3. Why did you renew your subscription so early?
Due to the fact that, it was cheaper. We couldn't do it online ourselves, but fortunately, the supporter who sits behind us in the stadium sorted it out for us.
4. What does Club mean to you?
We don't want to miss a single match of our club. In 2020, my wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, meaning we have been coming to watch the football together for 50 years. I also follow the away matches on TV, from my armchair. My wife is too nervous for that and spends the entire match in the bathroom. Only after the final whistle does she feel relieved. I am also a true Bruges resident and have been a Club supporter in heart and soul for many years.
5. How do you experience a home match?
I always go to a match with my wife, but I am much more objective than she is. I never jeer at other supporters or my own players. My wife, on the other hand, can sometimes react more intensely.
