During halftime of the Club Brugge - Zulte Waregem match, Club Brugge paused for a special anniversary: the 15th anniversary of SFCB On Wheels. Ever since 2011, Club Brugge Foundation and the Supporters' Federation have been working together to improve the soccer experience for Club supporters with disabilities, so that everyone can optimally enjoy soccer. A milestone that symbolizes 15 years of commitment, connection and inclusion within the Club family.
For 15 years Club Brugge Foundation and the Supporters' Federation have been actively working to improve the soccer experience for Club supporters with disabilities, so that everyone can enjoy soccer to the fullest. Whether it's a home match in Bruges or a far away trip, SFCB On Wheels ensures that supporters with disabilities can fully participate in the match experience and experience their Club up close. In addition, SFCB On Wheels acts as a connecting platform where Club supporters with disabilities can pool their experiences and needs, so that with one unified voice they can advise Club Brugge and help guide an increasingly accessible operation.
A warm celebration
In honor of the 15-year anniversary, during the halftime of Club Brugge - Zulte Waregem, all wheelchair users and their companions received a special scarf from SFCB On Wheels, as a lasting memento of 15 years of loyal support and connection. Delicacies were also part of the celebration: blue-black donuts were handed out in the wheelchair zone.
Pushing boundaries together
Chairman of the Supporters' Federation of Club Brugge, Nico Cappaert, emphasized the importance of this supporters' group: "As the Supporters' Federation of Club Brugge, it is our goal that all supporters are represented, regardless of their abilities or limitations. Soccer is about experience, connection and passion and this should be accessible to everyone. SFCB On Wheels has been playing a crucial role in this for 15 years. Thanks to this commitment, supporters with disabilities can fully experience their Club, both in the stadium and on the move."
Disability Access Officer Peter Gheysen also proudly looks back on the path taken: "At Club Brugge, a strong trajectory in terms of accessibility and inclusion has already been achieved over the past 15 years, despite the challenges of an outdated infrastructure. The goal is and remains to allow supporters with disabilities to become a full part of the Club family. This is always done in close dialogue with the supporters involved, so that choices are widely supported and respond to their needs. Also in the future, the ambition remains to continue building together on an accessible and inclusive soccer experience."
