Starting tomorrow, 16 teams will once again compete for the Belgian title in the virtual soccer game FC24, the successor to FIFA. What does the new format look like and, above all, what is there to win? An overview!
Who is representing our club?
Just like the past two seasons, Rudi Ekmen is once again at our controls. About three years ago Club went looking for a new player in cooperation with main partner Unibet. Ekmen won the final of an offline tournament and took his first steps in the esports world under the nickname 'Ekmen_JG10'.
In the Belgian competition, the Malinois stranded twice in the semifinals. Each time he lost to Gilles Bernard who plays for KRC Genk. At the international level, Ekmen has also shown some fine performances. For example, last year in the preliminaries of the eChampions League no fewer than nine players were defeated and he was the only Belgian to qualify for the last 64. In the decisive match to advance to the top 32, he clashed with world champion Tekkz.
This season, he is going all out to take his first national title in our club colors.
The new format
This season the ePro League will be more competitive, exciting and attractive than ever before.
In the regular league, all e-players will meet once in 15 matches. Those 15 matches will be divided into 3 periods. Are you at the top after a period and thus period champion? Then you go directly to the playoffs at the end of April.
In addition to the 3 period champions, the 3 highest placed clubs also qualify for the playoffs. The seven teams below them get a second chance in the qualifiers. And did you know you can enter those qualifiers yourself this season? The Pro League also gives amateur gamers a chance to compete with the top via the ePro League Cup. The winner of that amateur tournament joins the 7 pro players in the qualifiers, and the top two gamers of those eventually advance to the playoffs after all.
What's at stake?
Still with us until here? Top! So the six clubs that qualified directly will join the two teams from the qualifiers in the playoffs. At the end of April, the eight teams go to war in a final event. The champion will represent our league in the group stage of the eChampions League and the EA FC World Cup Play-Ins!
Want to watch Rudi's matches live? You can do so every Wednesday from 6 p.m. or every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. via YouTube, Twitch, the DAZN App as well as the DAZN Pro League TV channels. He opens the season tomorrow against Standard de Liège. Be sure to follow his adventures via the eClubBrugge Instagram and Twitter channels as well.
