In an enthralling duel between Juventus and Atalanta, both teams failed to convert superiority into victory.
Juventus started out strongly, putting immediate pressure on Atalanta, but initially unable to finish their chances. Loïs Openda, starting from kick-off, saw team mate Kalulu hit the goalpost with a thumping header, while Thuram and Adzic also had opportunities, but their attempts lacked precision.
At the other end, Atalanta showed itself more efficient. Just before half-time, Sulemana broke through the Juventus defense and finished in control: 0-1 in minute 45+1.
On the hour mark, Atalanta brought on Charles De Ketelaere, while Openda was taken off minutes later. Not much later, the visitors took over the initiative and had an excellent chance to make it 0-2 through Krstovic, but he failed in the finish.
In an attempt to still grab something from this, Juventus went all out in the closing stages and it paid off with Cabal's equalizer in minute 78. Shortly after, Atalanta suffered another setback with a red card in minute 80, but the score (1-1) remained unchanged.
