Narrow win for Beşiktaş at Samsunspor

UEFA Conference League

Beşiktaş – Club Brugge's next opponent in the Conference League – earned a 1-2 win visiting Samsunspor. FC Lugano was also victorious after a 0-5 at Yverdon-Sport FC, while newly crowned Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt suffered a defeat.

Samsunspor – Beşiktaş 1-2

A great run-up towards next Thursday's encounter with Club Brugge for Beşiktaş, beating Samsunspor at its home turf 1-2. Fifteen minutes into the game, Beşiktaş took the lead through Cenk Tosun, seeing it canceled out by Marius Mouandilmadji just ten minutes lalter. Ball possession was for Beşiktaş, but chance-wise the game was in balance, until former Genk defender Omar Colley scored the deciding goal with five more minutes on the clock.

The win takes Beşiktaş in third place, nine points behind leaders Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. (SF)

Beşiktaş: Günok, Rosier, Uysal, Colley, Masuaku, Hadziahmetovic, Bulut (46’ Aboubakar), Fernandes, Oxlade-Chamberlain (78’ Tiknaz), Tosun (68’ Bingöl), Muleka (95’ Kiliçsoy).
Goals: 17’ Tosun (0-1), 25’ Marius (1-1), 84’ Colley (1-2).

Yverdon-Sport FC - FC Lugano 0-5

Finally another win for FC Lugano in its home league, beating Yverdon-Sport 0-5, and climbing to 6th place in the Swiss league.

No one would have expected this dramatic score line after the 0-0 at half time, with FC Lugano the more industrious outfit with the most possession, but no goals. The second half, however, saw three goals in four minutes. First Hajdari scored through an Uran Bislimi assist, the latter repeating that trick moments later to set up Zan Celar, who also scored the 0-3 a bit later. The storm abated, but with fifteen minutes to go Hajrizi added another to his tally, and well into injury time, Babic made it 0-5 on the night. (EV)

FC Lugano: Saipi, Arigoni, Lukas Mai, Hajrizi, Hajdari (78’ El Wafi), Macek, Sabbatini, Bislimi (67’ Belhadj), Steffen (82’ Espinoza), Celar (77’ Babic), Mahou (77’ Cimignani).
Goals: 58’ Hajdari (0-1), 59’ Celar (0-2), 62’ Celar (0-3), 74’ Hajrizi (0-4), 90+1’ Babic (0-5).

Brann Bergen - Bodø/Glimt 4-2

Freshly crowned champions of Norway Bodø/Glimt faced runners-up Brann Bergen in a game that would end in 4-2.

Clearly the better outfit, Brann Bergen took a 2-0 lead through Finne. A first threat for Bodø came thirty minutes into the game, as Saltnes header was cleared, and Berg's meek shot ended up in the hands of the home goalie. The hosts then added a third through Castro. Early on in the second half, Brann scored a fourth time. Substitutes Tobias Gulliksen and Oscar Kapskarmo managed to lessen the gap somewhat, but couldn't creep closer than 4-2.

On Thursday, Bodø/Glimt will be hosting the game against Lugano in the Conference League Group stages. (KN)

Bodø/Glimt: Julian Lund - Fredrik Bjørkan, Odin Bjørtuft, Brede Moe, Brice Wembangomo (67’ Fredrik Sjøvold) - Ulrik Saltnes, Patrick Berg, Sondre Fet (46’ Amahl Pellegrino) - Albert Grønbaek, Faris Moumbagna (46’ Oscar Kapskarmo), Sondre Sørli (46’ Tobias Gulliksen).
Goals: 7’ 28’ Finne (1-0, 2-0), 39’ 47’ Castro (3-0, 4-0), 53’ Gulliksen (4-1), 82’ Kapskarmo (4-2).
