Club Brugge may call itself the best Football & Community operation of the Jupiler Pro League for one year. The club is awarded by a jury of independent experts for its social club operation and the efforts of the Club Brugge Foundation during the past season.
Club Brugge Foundation wins Pro League Football & Community Award
For Club Brugge Foundation, this 'Football & Community Award' is already the 4th Pro League award in 7 editions, following previous awards in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Last season, Club Brugge Foundation's 'De Beer en zijn Sjaal' project also won European awards, with the 'More than Football Award' from the European for Football Development Network in November and the 'Professional Club - Community Award' from the International Sports Awards in December.
Pro League congratulates Club for social commitment
Last season was not only challenging athletically for many clubs. Through digital alternatives, online sessions and meetings in bubbles, Club Brugge Foundation remained committed to local projects focusing on youth, synergy, inclusion and participation. Projects such as "Give Racism the Red Card," "Scoring for Health," "The Soccer Cracks," "The Bear and His Scarf" and "Club Brugge Bootcamp," among others, are Foundation success stories.
"At club level, the social impact on supporters, fans and players is particularly tangible. Through the Club Brugge Foundation, Club Brugge showed its social commitment even in a difficult year. The jury congratulates the club and the Foundation for its efforts this past season," said Jan Cas, Football & Community manager of the Pro League.
"Bluvn Goan to help people out".
Head of Foundation Peter Gheysen, who received the trophy on behalf of Club Brugge Foundation, is very elated: "The corona measures have posed a lot of challenges for us last year. But through numerous digital alternatives, activities in smaller bubbles and creative campaigns, we continued to spread our No Heart/No Glory message. Despite the coronarestrictions, we "Bluvn Goan" and continued to reach our target and opportunity groups with the various Foundation projects. Especially when society could use all the support we can get, we have continued to use our strength as a soccer club to the fullest to help people move forward."
"Next season, our Foundation will celebrate its 15th anniversary. As 'Club Brugge Foundation vzw', we have been able to grow into an efficient organization under the wings of the entire soccer club thanks to the unconditional support and drive of the entire Club. As befits the Club-DNA, we are stimulated daily to do even better and to increase the impact of our social projects. I would therefore like to thank everyone who works with us on this every day."

Socialcommitment supported by the entire Club family
Club President Bart Verhaeghe is also particularly proud of this award: "With Club Brugge, we want to be a pioneer in Belgian soccer, both on and off the field. Every year we ensure that our Foundation receives the necessary resources to continue its operations structurally, even in an economically challenging year. With the power of soccer, we make difficult topics discussable, offer vulnerable people extra opportunities or try to relieve them for a while. This social commitment is ingrained in Club's DNA, but we strengthen it year after year thanks to the efforts of the entire Club family. So I warmly thank everyone involved, staff, volunteers, project partners, Club fans and participants, for joining us in making a difference in the lives of many people."
