Empowering teachers during information event Diversity Wins
Workshop on diversity offers practical tools for the classroom
On Wednesday, January 22, the information event of Diversity Wins took place, with an inspiring workshop on diversity as a central part of the program. Ten teachers from four different participating schools gathered between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to further explore how they can address difficult or sensitive topics such as racism, faith, LGBTQIA+ and diversity in a safe and constructive way in the classroom.
The workshop was facilitated by the organization Schoolmakers and focused on how teachers can deal with certain statements or situations in the classroom. It also addressed how they can actively contribute to an inclusive school policy - or even co-direct policy changes. With this initiative, Club Brugge Foundation wants to strengthen and support teachers in their important role within the Diversity Wins project.
