Draw for Real, victories for PSG and Galatasaray
Real Madrid had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Villarreal, but out opponents in the Champions League - PSG and Galatasary - bagged all three points this weekend.
Villarreal - Real Madrid 2-2
Real Madrid spilled two points for the second week in a row in the Primera Division. After last week's 1-1 draw with Valladolid, Los Blancos now had to settle for a 2-2 draw away against Villarreal. Real Madrid conceded a goal after twelve minutes, but Gareth Bale equalized on the stroke of half-time. Fifteen minutes before the end of the game Thibault Courtois was beaten again, but again Bale bailed them out. With only a few minutes on the clock, the Welshman saw his left-footed strike go in at the near post. Deep into stoppage time Bale picked up a second yellow, which meant he was sent off a little bit earlier.
Real Madrid have not started this season with flying colours, as this draw means they have five points out of a maximum nine. They trail city rivals Atlético by four points. (SF)
