The Bruges defense hardly gave away any chances against Anderlecht, but keeping the zero was not possible. Jorne Spileers thought the 1-1 was a fair result.
"The first half was difficult, but in the second half we were better. We showed we are better, but again it was just not there in terms of scoring. We have to build on that better second period."
It was a match that will not go down in history because of beautiful soccer. There was mostly a lot of battle in the midfield. "It's a fair result if you look at the match. The first half was more for them, at least the first half hour. The last fifteen minutes we were better though," the young central defender of Blauw-Zwart continued.
About his own match he was short and strict: "All in all I am reasonably satisfied, but at that goal of theirs I kicked over the ball, again. It also happened last week against Besiktas and that kind of thing has to come out at this level." (EV)
