Assistant coach Rik De Mil is leaving Club Brugge. He will start work as head coach at KVC Westerlo.
De Mil (42) has worked at Blauw-Zwart since 2015. At Club, he was successively coach of the Brugge U19, head coach of Club NXT, assistant coach under Carl Hoefkens, head coach of Blauw-Zwart and finally assistant to current coach Ronny Deila. De Mil now gets his chance as head coach at KVC Westerlo.
So after Sven Vermant, Philippe Clement and Carl Hoefkens, another coach from the Bruges Academy is going to work as trainer in First Division. We sincerely thank Rik for his efforts for Club and wish him every success in the future.
De Mil: "I look back on 9 fantastic years at Blauw-Zwart. Both with the youth, as well as with the A core, I experienced wonderful moments. Club Brugge and its supporters will always remain a part of my family, but the opportunity to become head coach at a great team like KVC Westerlo is one I cannot pass up. I accept the challenge with great enthusiasm. This is not a goodbye, but a goodbye!"
