After the pleasing and deserved win against Antwerp, Rik De Mil was obviously a satisfied coach.
Rik De Mil: "Very proud of how the group got up today"
"I thought we played a very sensible match today," the coach began his account. "We started the match better than Antwerp, but also could only really threaten once with that chance from Mats(Rits). Then Antwerp did take over the game a bit with more ball possession and I thought we were too low. We adjusted that in the second half and I was also happy with the way we defended. In the second half we did finish our chances on top of that. We stayed focused and the crowd was once again fantastic behind the team. So I dare say that this was definitely a deserved win against a good opponent with good organization. It mainly came down to details today..."
Coach De Mil also returned briefly to the altercation between Lang and Alderweireld. "Obviously it's unfortunate that Noa(Lang) is suspended next week. I honestly thought that yellow card was undeserved and a misinterpretation by the referee. Alderweireld and Lang are two mature players who briefly clashed, but they solved this themselves. Then I thought this should just be resolved calmly by the ref instead of immediately giving yellow. However apart from that I focus mainly on how the group stood up today. I am very proud of that as a coach after last week's beating."
Finally, there was a word on the substitution of Yaremchuk. "Roman (Yaremchuk) comes from a period where he was sick for a long time and heavily, and he had cramps at the end. That's the reason I brought him to the side. With that, I thanked him for his efforts because I also know what he has been through this season. However, this week he trained very well, so that's why I let him start today as well. In addition, you have Romeo(Vermant) who has filled in very strongly, despite the fact that there have been some question marks about the young players from the outside in the past matches. All these factors make me a satisfied coach today," Rik De Mil concluded (TM).
