Standard – Club: Club Facts

Club visit Standard on Sunday evening. The ninth match of the Blues in the Jupiler Pro League this season will have place in Stade Maurice Dufrasne. You can prepare yourself for the away match at Standard by reading the Club Facts!

It will already be the 187th duel between Club and Standard in the First Division. The 93 prior away matches resulted in 25 victories, 21 draws and 47 defeats for the Blues. There is no other opponent that Club faced more than Standard in the Belgian First Division. 

Club could not win seven consecutive times at Sclessin (5D 2L). The last victory at the banks of the Maas was a 0-3 win in January 2017. If Club manage to score twice at Standard, they will score their 300th league goal against the Rouches.

Last season, the two duels between Club and Standard ended in a 2-2 draw  Club gave away a double lead (through Bas Dost and Charles De Ketelaere) in Jan Breydel after goals by Aron Dønnum and Noë Dussenne (penalty). At Standard, the Liègemen took the lead twice through Mathieu Cafaro and Renaud Emond and just as many times Club were able to score again, each time through Bas Dost.



The fifth away match of the Jupiler Pro League season will have place at Sclessin on Sunday evening. 

Standard won each of their last three league matches with a difference of one goal. At home, Standard obtained 7 points out of 12. It was able to win against Cercle Brugge (2-0) and KV Ostend (1-0), drew against KAA Gent (2-2) and lost against Oud-Heverlee Leuven (1-3).

Last summer the Rouches said goodbye to i.e. Jackson Muleka, Samuel Bastien, Moussa Sissako, Mathieu Cafaro, Mehdi Carcela and Niels Nkounkou.

Defenders: Jacob Barrett Laursen (Den) [Arminia Bielefeld (Ger)], Marlon Fossey (Usa) [Fulham FC (Eng)]
Midfielders: Steven Alzate (Col) [on loan from Brighton (Eng)], Filippo Melegoni (Ita) [on loan from Genoa (Ita)]
Attackers: Osher Davida (Isr) [Hapoel Tel-Aviv (Isr)], Noah Ohio (Ned) [RB Leipzig (Ger)], Stipe Perica (Cro) [Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Isr)], Philip Zinckernagel (Den) [on loan from Olympiacos (Gre)], Aron Dønnum (Nor) [returned from Vålerenga (Nor)]

Selim Amallah is the topscorer of the Rouches with four goals. If he scores against Club Brugge, it will be his 25th goal for Standard. Homegrown youth player Cihan Çanak is Standard's assist king (two assists).

Cisse Sandra can play his 10th league match for Club Brugge. 


Mr. Jasper Vergoote has been appointed Man in Black for El Clasico. Mr. Tom Vanpoucke and Mr. Martijn Tiesters are the line referees while Mr. Bram Van Driessche is the fourth official. Mr. Lothar D'Hondt is the video referee and will be assisted by Mr. Romain Devillers and Mr. Istvan Lagaert.
It will be the fourth official match of Club Brugge whistled by Mr. Vergoote. Club's two previous away matches with him as a referee were both won. Standard Liège's two previous home matches under his watch were also both won. It will be the first time that he blows the whistle in a match between Club and Standard.
