In the Summer of 2020, Club managed to peel Mbamba away from KRC Genk's youth academy, and under the watchful eye of Rik De Mil, Mbamba gained some experience at Club NXT. Warding off competitors, Club offered him a contract until 2023. On 23 May 2021, he became the youngest debutant at Club Brugge, and the first player born in 2005 to earn playing time in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League as former head coach Philippe Clement awarded him a spot against KRC Genk in the final game of the season.
