Everything about the new ePro League season

Esports

As of tomorrow, 16 teams will compete again for the Belgian title in the virtual football game FC24, the successor to FIFA. What does the new format look like and, more importantly, what is there to win? An overview!

Who defends our club colours?

Just like the previous two seasons, Rudi Ekmen will take place behind the controller. Some three years ago, Club started looking out for a new player, in cooperation with main partner Unibet. Ekmen won the final of an offline tournament, and entered the world of eSports with the nickname 'Ekmen_JG10'.

In the Belgian competition, the Malinois stranded twice in the semi-finals; twice he couldn't get past Gilles Bernard from KRC Genk. Also internationally, Ekmen already displayed his qualities. He defeated nine opponents in last season's eChampions League qualifiers, and he was the only Belgian player to qualify for the final 64. In the decisive match to advance to the top 32, he bumped into world champion Tekkz.

This season he will go all-in to win his first title at Club Bruges.

The new format

This season, the ePro League will be more competitive, more exciting and more attractive than ever before. In the regular league, all e-players will face each other once in fifteen games. These 15 games are spread over 3 periods. The player who's in the lead at the end of a period will go automatically to the play-offs at the end of April.

Besides those three 'period champions', also the three overall best-ranked other teams will qualify for the play-offs. The seven teams below will have a second chance in the qualifiers. Did you know that you can participate in these qualifiers? The Pro League wants to give amateur gamers an opportunity to test themselves against the top of the ePro League via an ePro League Cup. The winner of this cup will join the 7 professional esporters in the qualifiers and the two best gamers in these qualifiers will go through to the play-offs.

What can be won?

Are you still following? Perfect! The six teams that were directly qualified will thus enter the play-offs alongside the two best teams from the qualifiers. These eight teams will take each other on in an ultimate face-off at the end of April. The winner, the champion in other words, will represent our competition in the group stage of the eChampions League and the EA FC World Cup Play-Ins.

Would you like to follow Rudi's games live? That's possible! The games are broadcast via Youtube, Twitch, the DAZN App and the DAZN television channels every Wednesday at 6pm. Rudi's first fixture is tomorrow, against Standard de Liège.
