Club Brugge is back at the Basecamp, following the Summer training camp in the Netherlands. There are two more friendlies ahead of us before we play for all the marbles. First opponent: KFC Heist!


Contrary to the previous friendlies, the match against KFC Heist will not be broadcasted live via our Facebook or YouTube channel.

THE PREVIOUS MATCH

Last Saturday, Club Brugge concluded its summer training in the Netherlands with a friendly against Eredivisie club Go Ahead Eagles. Maxim De Cuyper, Tajon Buchanan, Jack Hendry, Antonio Nusa, Andreas Skov Olsen and Hugo Vetlesen all made their debuts in this campaign.

The Eagles took the lead midway through the first half through Norway's Oliver Edvardsen. After halftime, Club was still able to turn the score around. First, Raphael Onyedika slammed home the equalizer with a power effort from around the penalty box.. Shortly before the end Shion Homma steered the ball into the far corner after a great individual effort. There have now been five different players who scored during this pre-season.

THE MATCH

Club Brugge plays its last 2 friendlies of the preparation close to home and with spectators around the pitch. On Wednesday KFC Heist hosts Blauw-Zwart in their Stadium De Taeye. KFC Heist finished 8th in the West-Flemish 2nd Provincial B league last season and it's the club where Maxim De Cuyper started as a football player. After two-and-a-half years, at the age of 7, he moved to Club Brugge's youth academy.

Former players Francis Couvreur, Dirk Hinderyckx, Eric Maertens, Marcel Mitchell and Remi Verheecke share a history at KFC Heist.

Next Saturday Club plays the Brugse Metten at Jan Breyndel against AZ Alkmaar.
