Last Wednesday afternoon, September 21, Club Brugge's brand new 'More Than Football' mini-pitch in Zeebrugge was officially inaugurated. It became a big neighborhood party for young and old, under a radiant sun.
DONATION 'CLUB BRUGGE MINI-PITCH'
In November 2020, Club Brugge Foundation, the social welfare operation of the national champion, won the prestigious 'More Than Football Award 2020', presented by the 'European Football for Development Network'(EFDN). As winner of this prestigious award, Club Brugge received a full-option mini-pitch, donated by 'Musco Lighting', worth 100,000 euros.
Club Brugge decided to donate this mini-pitch to Stad Brugge, to be installed in a neighborhood park on Bruges territory. With this, it wants to reach as many Bruges youngsters as possible and use the connecting power of soccer to strengthen people and neighborhoods. Kustpark Knapen in Zeebrugge was chosen as the ideal location for this mini-pitch.
OFFICIAL INAUGURATION
The mini-pitch was installed last summer in Kustpark Knapen in Zeebrugge and was officially inaugurated on Wednesday afternoon, September 21, in cooperation with Stad Brugge, during a large neighborhood party for all Zeebrugge residents.
Club players Jutgla, Sandra, Nusa & Rits together with Club YLA players Matavkova, Ouzraoui and Guns stopped by to hand out autographs and photos to the numerous youngsters who turned up.
The realization of this mini-pitch came about thanks to a collaboration between the company Musco Lighting, the European Football for Development Network, Stad Brugge together with the various city services and Club Brugge and its Foundation.

Every Club match brings thousands of fans to the stadium and enthuses another multiple of them in living rooms across the country. Together they live that passion for soccer. Often young people get the soccer bug by playing soccer together with a few friends in a neighborhood square from a young age.

It brings different cultures together around the love of soccer and it provides an outlet for many young people.
